Our Beliefs

GOD

We believe there is only one eternal God, the Creator of all things who exists in three Persons - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is all-knowing, all-powerful, all-present, and completely loving. (Gen 1:1; Isaiah 43:10-11; 2 Cor 13:14; Matt 28:19; John 14:16-17)

JESUS CHRIST

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life and died on a cross in our place. We believe in His virgin birth, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, and that He rose from the dead proving His victory. We believe that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. (John 1:1-3; Heb 1:8; Matt 1:23; John 14:30; John 2:11; Isaiah 53:4-6; Matt 28:6; Acts 1:9)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in the life of every Christian from the moment of salvation, giving us power for service, boldness in our Christian walk and the character of Christ. We believe that in order to live holy and fruitful lives, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it (Acts 2:39). The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.

THE WORD OF GOD

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God (2 Tim 3:16) and is God’s written message to mankind. It is a true, accurate and authoritative account of history and future events. It is our source of inspiration, authority and teaching and it has the power to transform lives. We believe it is applicable in every circumstance, and in our everyday lives.

SALVATION

We believe that although every person on planet earth has tremendous potential for good, the human race has been separated from God because of sin. Because God is Holy, sin separates us from Him and the ultimate result of sin is spiritual death and eternal separation from God. Humanity alone cannot change this situation, and therefore we needed God’s intervention. We believe that Jesus Christ is humanity’s hope. We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the 'new birth' we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and surrender our lives to Him.

HEALING AND WHOLENESS

We believe that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. We believe in His power to heal and transform our lives. We believe that God desires for us to be whole and prosperous in order that we can impact the lives of those around us and help others effectively.

ETERNITY

We believe that the final outcome of our lives and our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. And we believe just as He promised, the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again.

METHODISM

We believe in the four 'ALLs' of Methodism: 'ALL need to be saved. ALL may be saved. ALL may know themselves saved. ALL may be saved completely'.

YOU MATTER TO GOD

You are God's passion and heartbeat. Therefore, since people matter to God, they should also matter to the church. Here at Wootton New Life we are willing to do what's necessary to meet people where they are, so we can help them see where God is and where He wants them to be.

We believe that God has an individual purpose for each one of us which is to worship Him, develop our destiny as we fulfil our role in the Church and serve our local community.
